Introducing : Angie Ilg : Owner of Live Free Coaching ~ Portraits and Insight to an Entrepreneur's Journey

When I began this photo series, I knew I wanted to focus on photographing female entrepreneurs that are passionate about their story and journey of their business. Here are a series of interview questions that lend insight to an inspiring story covering Angie Ilg of Live Free Coaching and her journey to her success. She is an outstanding woman with such a delicate and compassionate nature.

Q: Describe a brief bio introducing yourself and your business, Live Free Coaching. How did you decide to go into it? What makes you passionate about your business? What is the background that leads up to this?

A: I'm Angie, the founder of Live Free Coaching and the creator of the Bold and Peaceful Program.
I'm a coach and NLP practitioner, and I work with people who want to get clear on their life direction, have natural confidence, and fulfilling relationships. I support people in overcoming procrastination, comparison, stress, confusion, and unhappiness, so that they can discover and create their own happiness, purpose, and peace within themselves and in their relationships.I decided to go into coaching after years of struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, and low self-worth. I found myself in toxic, unsatisfying relationships over and over, and felt trapped within myself and in my circumstances. But I knew that there had to be something better. And in my searching for answers and solutions, coaching and NLP were the most deeply transformative tools that I found. After years of receiving coaching, and through tons of inner work, I realized the potential within me to help those who were ready for this kind of transformation.I'm passionate about my business when I see the transformation in my clients. I watch them remove the layers blocking them from experiencing true happiness, natural confidence, and realizing their dreams, and it's magical to see them and their lives blossom!!

Q:
What does success means to you?

A: Success is staying true to yourself. It looks like speaking your truth. It also looks like getting to do what you love to do, and feel taken care of in life as a result. Success is loving who you are, what you're doing, and the impact you're making in the world. Success is being able to be present enough to realize you're successful, and to actually get to enjoy it.

Q: How do you create work/life balance?

A: Balance is an interesting word, because by nature it means that there is a single point that you're aiming for - anything outside of that point is out of balance. I've literally thought about this word and concept for the past seven years!! No joke. Around seven years ago, the concept of harmony was brought up to me. And so I aim for harmony. With that, I know that there will be times where parts of my life are "louder" and other parts "quieter". There will be high notes and low notes, but them can all come together in harmony. I seek for that harmony that feels most beautiful to me. What that looks like practically speaking is taking time in the middle of the work day to break and enjoy a meal. It also looks like setting work aside at night, to enjoy time with my fiance and friends and family. Things feel out of harmony when I haven't had as much connection time with my closest friends, and when this happens, I reach out to them so we can at least hop on a call to connect. Things also feel out of harmony when a lot of time is spent in the physical world, and there's been a lack of time in my spirituality and going within. So for that, I take notice, and spend some quality time with myself, through meditation, journaling, or movement (like hiking).

Q: How do you give back to the community?

A: I give back to the community through offering free to low-cost events. I also offer
complimentary coaching to those new to me or my practice. I love to give back by showing up with kindness, presence, and offering genuine connection, since I know that so many of us feel
a lack of true connection these days. In the future, I look forward to offering a scholarship for coaching or retreats.

Q: What steps do you think are necessary for an entrepreneur who wants to move her business to the next level?

A: This is a great question! And so multi-faceted, because I believe it can be different for everyone, and depending on where you're at. However, here are some things that are working for me:
1. Be willing to make mistakes and experiment.
2. Give yourself structure - to your days, and to your goals.
3. Have a support system, including support for your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
4. Use SMART goals, and get them in your calendar. Check in on them regularly.
5. Stay connected to your purpose!! Remembering WHY you're doing what you're doing is fuel for your engine.
6. Find a consistency that works for you in content creation and marketing.

Q: What challenges and opportunities do you see in the present economic environment? How do you promote/market your business? How do you grow your business, market & network?

A: I believe that you can make money no matter the economic environment. You can always thrive with a mindset and strategy that works, and with action that meets the strategy and mindset. I promote and market my business using Facebook, email, as well as in person / interpersonal connections. I believe in always sharing value, so any interaction I have I want to be valuable. I grow my business through word of mouth referrals, and online. I prefer to network by being out in the community day to day, at coffee shops or at my co-working space, as well as by attending events that interest me.

Q: What books and resources would you recommend to other women in business?

A: For coaches - The Prosperous Coach
You Are a Badass at Making Money, Jen Sincero
Amy Porterfield for online marketing

Q: What advice do you have for women who are just starting out?

A: Start where you're at! For many businesses these days, you can start with little to no overhead. It's important to have a plan and goals, but to not overwhelm yourself with the fire of those dreams. You do have enough resources, wisdom, and value to offer exactly right now. Trust yourself as much as possible, and the voice inside that's speaking to you.

Q: How do you stay connected in mind body and spirit?

A: Prayer, meditation, yoga, hiking, being in nature, time with my friends, family and fiance. I love ceremony and ritual, and I stay tuned in to where I'm at in my cycle as well.

Q: What is your favorite quote to live by?

A: This is a hard one to pick just one! Right now I like this one:

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
– Albert Einstein

Q: What is your power word or words/mantra?

A: I love, approve, and accept myself exactly as I am.
I am a queen.

Q: Two industry or general business related tips that could help other women business owners.

A: Get really familiar with your money - be specific. You don't have to work crazy hours or kill yourself to succeed.
